How can I charge my cell phone in a different country?
You’ve packed your bags, got your passport ready, checked-in for your flight, and then it hits you. How do I charge my cell phone in Europe? Asia? South America? Do I need an adapter or a converter? Centurion has put together these helpful tips to help you avoid an electrical nightmare on your trip.
Don’t go out and buy an expensive converter right away. Most devices such as cell phone, laptops and tablets can operate between 100-240 volts.
Check your charger. It should tell you if it can support dual voltage by indicating input 100-240V. If your device can support this range, you’re in luck! You would only need an adapter.
A simple google search such as “What kind of power outlet do they use in Iceland” will quickly provide you a description, and often an image of what you’re looking for. If you’re lucky enough to take multiple international trips in your lifetime, we suggest buying a multi-country universal plug adapter. Many online retailers such as Amazon will have these.
If you find yourself in a pickle and forgot to pack your adapter, check with your hotel front desk. Many hotel chains will offer a lender adapter.
